Sebastian's entrance into this Big, Wide, World!!!

My due date was 11/1/11. This lilperson was 2 days late. I know so unlike a Scorpio lol. So, when I woke up on the 3rd I had cramps but nothing crazy. As the day went on the cramps got worse an worse. At 1:45pm my water broke, and it was then clear to me that these cramps were actually contractions. I already had a Dr.’s appointment for 3:30pm that day, so I called my Dr. told her what was going on, and she said she’d meet us at the hospital. So we took our time, got our bags, took care of the dogs, and the rest of the house. We ended up at the hospital around 3:15 or so. My contractions were 1-2 mins apart by this time and so strong I could hardly stand.
When we got to Labor&Delivery I was 4cm dilated, an contractions were back to back. The baby’s heart rate was not stable. It’d go from 200bpm to flat line 0bpm. My Dr. started giving me drugs to slow down the contraction to see if the baby’s heart rate would stabilize. My contractions slowed down to about every 4-8mins, but my body wasn’t doing the work. I wasn’t dilating. By know 2-3 hours has gone by, not much change in either of us. Baby was still unstable, and I was not progressing.
My Dr. checked me again and said ok we need to get the baby out ASAP his heart rate has dropped to 40bpm and still dropping. She rushed in an Epidural, and sent me to the O.R. I don’t remember alot about it other than it was offal, I started shaking, violently and uncontrollably. I also began to vomit while laying flat on my back. Finally they let my husband in the O.R. to support me, and watch the birth of our baby. The first thing I said to him was I think I’m gonna pass out. Then I remember waking up to the Dr.’s saying “It’s a BOY” We didn’t know the gender of baby until then. I burst into tears, still shaking violently, and uncontrollably. I kept asking if he was ok cus I didn’t hear him crying. Finally I hear a loud cry and I know he’s ok.
He’s cord was rapped around his neck and that’s why his heart rate was unstable. I hate that we had to go through all that, but I am so blessed that we are both healthy in the end. This is how Sir Sebastian Alister Verges Came into this Big Wide World!!!!
